Counselor's Corner
Hello, 8th Grade Students!
I hope all is well. A couple of weeks ago, I shared a document in Verge regarding using positive coping skills to deal with stress and negative feelings. One of my favorite coping skills mentioned in the document is using a journal. A journal can be used for expressing your feelings in writing and/or art. This week's counseling lesson will show you how to create a journal using materials that you may already have in your home. Therefore, please visit the resource section of Digital Dreamers to view my PowerPoint on how to make a homemade journal. Also, please remember that I can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm via Verge Message. Have a wonderful week!!! Your Counselor, Ms. Rice-Robinson Celebrations

Kadir Nelson is a critically acclaimed artist and illustrator. His illustrations just glow. He has received many awards for his children's books, including the Caldecott and Coretta Scott King awards. His books include titles that you probably know: Henry's Freedom Box, Moses, Dancing in the Wings, and Salt in His Shoes. CBS Sunday Morning did a wonderful interview with him this past Sunday, 4/19/2020. Enjoy!
