Rising Ninth Grade Night will take place at Stephenson High School on Thursday, January 18th from 5-7pm. Effective first day of second semester: January 3, 2024 New Dismissal time: After careful consideration, we have decided to implement a no-early-dismissal policy after 3:15PM. Exceptions for Emergencies: Please note that this policy change is to enhance the safety and organization of our end-of-day procedures. However, in case of emergencies requiring early dismissal after 3:15PM, we understand the need for flexibility. If such a situation arises, kindly call the school in advance to communicate the emergency. Why the change? This adjustment is aimed to providing a more structured and secure environment for our students while minimizing disruptions during the crucial final moments of the school day. Your cooperation matters: We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this updated policy. Your support is invaluable in ensuring the smooth functioning of school community. Questions or Concerns? If you have any questions or concerns about this policy update, please contact us. We are here to address any inquiries you may have. DeKalb County Government is partnering with local faith leaders and community groups to distribute 5,000 boxes of fruits, vegetables and chicken hindquarters on Saturday, Dec. 16. “The high cost of groceries will make it difficult for hard-working families to put food on their tables during this festive holiday season,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said. Additionally, residents will receive snacks for children that include peppermint candy canes. On Saturday, Dec. 16., beginning at 9 a.m., food distributions will be held at the following locations:
