Along with a 10-pound bag of chicken hindquarters, residents will receive one 20-pound box of food that will fruits, vegetables and a dozen eggs. Additionally, residents will receive cookies, fruit juice boxes, cereal and candy canes. Beginning at 9 a.m., rain or shine, 5,000 boxes of food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, at the following drive-through locations:
Lyft and Goodwill have teamed up to provide free rides for those looking for work. From now until Dec. 31 jobseekers can register at Goodwill of North Decatur, located at 2201 Lawrenceville Highway in Decatur, and receive a code qualifying them for free Lyft transportation, to and from interviews and training. Those interested can call 844-344-9675. Chromebooks are currently available for check out at DeKalb County Public Library locations. Chromebooks are similar to laptops with Google’s Chrome operating system. They are most useful when connected to the internet and logged in to a Google account. Chromebooks may be checked out for three weeks. Any DeKalb County Public Library cardholder age 18 and older is able to check one out. This program is currently available at these libraries.
